And finally some good news...

I haven't blogged for awhile so I decided to post. So I have gone to 5 debate tournaments since Blacksnake and haven't done all that great :\ Oh well. I was really hoping to qualify for Nationals this year but no luck. But that's ok, I get to go as an observer this year again so I am pretty excited for that! Even though I wasn't quite able to pull through for Nats I did, however, make it to State! The district tournament was this last Saturday and I qualified to state in Lincoln-Douglas Debate with a win-loss record of 4-0. I am really excited but also quite nervous and stressed due to the fact that we have a brand new topic and I have pretty much zero topic knowledge...but I'm going to enjoy every minute of the stress :]

Zach was my PF partner at the BSU tournament. We went 3-2. Pretty good considering I'd only done PF once before and he had only ever debated novice LD.

Aj and I at Shelley. I went 3-2 in LD. But I did break to finals in both speech events: DI and OO.

Me next to a Hogwarts letter [!] at Madison. I went 4-1 in LD and was only 5 speaker points away from breaking to quarter-finals...so disappointing when that happens!

Abby and me at National Qualifiers with the Skyline Mascot :] Abby qualified in PF! I made it to round 5 in both of my events. Not too amazing but at least I was able to compete both days.

And the good news at last! Me with my State Qualifier certificate :] 4-0 as mentioned above.

This is rather random but I just had to add this picture. It's the mask I made in pottery, the only project I have ever gotten a 100% on. How I made that rose I have no idea but I was very happy with how it turned out :]

Blacksnake

So the Blacksnake debate tournament at ISU was quite fun! I ended up doing Varsity LD [Lincoln-Douglas Debate] rather than JV LD as I was originally signed up. So it was harder competition. I really didn't do bad though. I broke to quarter-finals so I was in the top 8. Then I lost my quarter-final round, but it was against a good Hillcrest debater so I'm not too terribly upset about this. Except for the fact that he has now beat me 3 times in a row. Oh well...:] anyways my duo partner and I broke to finals and took 5th I believe. So no trophy but still we did good :] Anyways I will probably keep my blog updated with mainly debate related things. Now I shall post pictures from the tournament.

Theresa
Me and my duo partner Whittney Bates :] She got first place! I am so proud of her :] And then thats my wimpy quarter-finals trophy :]

Whittney and Abby and I partied it up :]

We are truly precious :] haha I love my debate buddies

2011

I've been trying to write my debate cases for my tournament in a week but have hit a wall so I've decided to post a blog.

So its that time of year again. That time to think of New Year's Resolutions! I always have trouble with these. I can never think of any that I'm not too lazy to fulfill. And I'm just not motivated enough to make one of my resolutions: Stop Being Lazy. Nope. It's just not going to happen. Anyways I have thought of a few and here they are just in case you were interested.

1. Forgive and let go of a few grudges I've been holding.

2. Make new friends. But keep the old. [One is silver and the other's gold...;)]

3. Work extra hard in debate.

Thats pretty much all I have thought of so far.
Well let's plan to make 2011 a really great year! [Way better than 2010 I hope...]

Love,
Theresa

Happy New Year :]
